A new judge in Samoa

But in August 2013, the University of Waikato law graduate and former lecturer was sworn in and became just the second woman judge in Samoa to be appointed to the District Court.

Award-winning designer receives University of Waikato Award
Singaporean criminologist-turned-designer Edmund Wee will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Waikato this month. Mr Wee is the Managing and Creative Director of Singapore-based design company Epigram, and Publisher and CEO of Epigram Books.

Māori Land Court Judge and Deputy Chair of the Waitangi Tribunal, Stephanie Milroy, will be presented with a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Waikato this month. Judge Milroy received a Master of Laws from Waikato University in 1997.
Distinguished Professor receives University of Waikato Award
Distinguished Professor of Mathematics Marston Conder will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Waikato this month. Professor Conder completed a Masters in Social Sciences, with First Class Honours in mathematics at the University of Waikato in 1977.
