All graduates from the University of Waikato, people who have completed a paper or recognised course, former staff members and active participants in University life are members of our Alumni & Friends community. It is an inclusive, dynamic group, supporting one another and the aspirations of their University.

Remembering Tom Shaw: Family gift supports biological sciences students (14 February 2020)
To remember their brother Tom, the Shaw brothers and their parents established the Tom Shaw Memorial Prize in Biological Sciences for students with outstanding ability in ecology or botany. The prize is now in its 40th year, and the Shaws have committed to funding the prize for a further 20 years.
Two University of Waikato graduates are putting their tech skills to use for the greater good at Imagimation, a Waikato social enterprise that develops software to benefit local communities' quality of life.
